Epilogue
Well folks, that’s it. The end of the 2025 Alaska Expedition.
I had started this series of Alaska blog posts with “Day one, Day two, etc.” but soon gave up on keeping track of numbers for each post. Now here we are at day 71, post number 27, and it’s truly been one of the most memorable trips. 70+ hours of flying as well as 8,500 miles on our van. That’s a lot of flying and a lot of driving, the driving mainly by Bets (thank you again Bets!)
Flying to Alaska is an adventure in the truest sense of the word. A lot of thinking goes into routing, weather, equipment, fuel, lodging, etc. Things will go wrong and it can be a challenge getting things back on track. I hope my experiences and this blog help a few people on their journey north.
I realize there is a lot of information in this blog about Alaska including the three flying trips in addition to other Alaska trips I’ve taken (around 12 total). Maybe enough helpful and entertaining information for a book / ebook?

Yes, Betsy was on that flight as well as two of our friends. No one seemed frightened, even when I said, “OK everyone, I don’t yet see the slot we are supposed to aim for. I’m giving it another 30 seconds and then I’m turning around”. In other words, “OK everyone, I’m lost”.
